As you can read on front page, I live in BELA KRAJINA, Pod gozdom 30, 8340 Črnomelj. Črnomelj lies 90 km southeast from our capital city Ljubljana. My QRA is JN7500.
Bela krajina is surrounded on one side with Gorjanci, on the other side with Mirna gora and Poljanski hribi, on the southeast is opened to our neighboor Croatia? It is a land of white birches?Zelenega Jurija, river Kolpa and its affluents and also a land of good wine, chesnut and with rich history?mainly it is a country of good and hospitable people. I am Belokranjec on my fathers side of which I am very proud and I would never move to another place.
I was born in Novo mesto on 30.06.1944
Me and my mother lived in Gotna vas near Novo mesto untill I was two?when my father came back from the war, we moved to Br?ljin in Novo mesto and later in 1950 we moved again, this time in my fathers birth place Črnomelj. Since I can remembered I was very attached to railroad, beacause my father was an engine-driver, therefore I also decided for this occupation?
With radio amateurism I meat in 1959 in Ravne na Koro?kem, when we founded our club, which worked under protection of radio club FRANJO MALGAJ. We had all sort of lectures about electrical technics, we made our first receiver on cristal, later on with one and two tubes and simple transistor radio. At the same time we learned about telegraphy. I liked it a lot! I must thank Mr. ČUČEJ for all the hard work which he invested in this club, that unfortunatelly soon die off- I remained alone in the end. I did not get my licence then. I served army in coarse CONNECTION, 6 months I spent on radio telegraph course, passed 3 army class and next year I worked in center of connection in Mostar, mostly on SCR 197. Yet today I like to remember those days, because I really enjoyed, especially when I went outdoors. Those days I travelled all over Hercegovina and my days passed very quickly. In the end of my serving days I passed class 2. We worked almost entirely on CW, only sometimes in SSB. Even though I read today something sharp about army telegraphist, I have nothing but good memories. I also had the opportunity to listen to the music, which I otherwise would not be able.
When I came home from the army, there was no radio club in my town. I got a job at the railroad, passed the exam for the stoker of steam locomotive, worked this job for one year and then went to school for engine-driver in KASTAV near REKA. After my returnal I passed the exam for engine-driver for steam and diesel locomotive. I drove steam locomotive for 6 years and then for 25 years diesel locomotive. I enjoyed the most on locomotive 644-013, I treated it like my own, but today is no longer in driving condition. I worked as engine-driver also on series 812, 813, 711 in 713. I was lucky that I drove steam locomotives series 33 and 11, which of all the locomotives I like the most. From diesel locomotives I liked the most the popular KENEDI, but I did not have the opportunity to drive it, but I had the fortune to drive a locomotive REAGAN-664, the locomotive that we did not have in our work unit. I spent a lot of good hours doing my job, I really enjoyed it, even though I experienced some bad times. Since 1994 I am in pension, but I would still like to drive trains.
Among radio amateurs I returned in 1990. I must thank Jo?e-S52AB, who encourage me. I started with licence 4N3BPA, later on with YT3QR and in our independent Slovenija with S52QR. My current sign S52R I have only because of my car tablet, I got used of it and I think I will always have it? HI?
My first station was QRP-808, then IC-746, then TS-440 and now I work on TS-950SDX. Here I would like to thank HERMAN S51JH for profoundly made servis on KV station, which works now perfectly. On UKW I had first TS-711 and now TS-790e. On 50 MHz I use FT-690-r2 and for PR FT-411E. SSB work does not please me a lot, I occasionally report on 3.605 and almost every day on R2. A lot of connection I made with friend 5R8GE, who is on Magadaskar, otherwise I work in CW. I have over 60000 of logged connections. Last 3 years I also work with digital communications?PSK, RTTY and SSTV. It is very interesting, but a little boring, because most of the work is done by computer. I thank DANIEL-S55S and GERMAN-DG5NEN for programs. They work UFB!!!! I made modem alone, on RIG I connected through 13 full plug ACC2.
All antennas I have on tower HM, height 11 m. I have spent a lot of time thinking how high should I made it and then I decided for the smaller one with the switch system, so I can lower it to the ground and work simply on it. Building pit is 1.5 m deep in the ground- I used for that 3 cube meters of concrete. The tower is very stable, even though I anchored it on two places with three anchores from nonrutsing material. Lowering and raising of the tower is really simple, so I can do it with only one hand?
For turning the antennas I have the rotator EMOTATOR-747SR-
How I manage the tower is shown in directory STOLP.
INV.L ANTENNA for 1.8 MHz is set on transverse bearer on tower in height cca 11 m. It is the highest it can get, therefore the lenght of the vertikal part of antenna is 11 m, the gentle part is also 11m long, the remainig lenght of the wire till 52m, is lead parallelal with the border of my land, 4m before the end is cca 10m of wire winded on spool, because there is not enough place for 52m of wire. Radials are connected on cable RG-213, with which I provide antenna and are lenght of 40m, cca 10cm in the ground. Antenna is tunned trough spinning condenser 500 pF on telegraph part. Antenna is not special?mainly because of the vertical part, which is cca 4 cm too short?tunning on spool and wraped aslant part, that all reduces the working of antenna. I think that the tower and three houses near by have also some influence on antenna?but with solid propagation it could be done some things?DXCC probably not?
INV.Ve ANTENNA for 3.5 MHz is set on support of the tube for turning of the yagi antennas. Both thighs fall against the land under sharper angle, like it was planed, bet even though they must be 2m before the end rounded, because my land is too small?unfortunatelly they are not set diagonal and that influences on operation of antenna. For operation I use RG-213 through balun for symmetry 1:1 and tuned on the telegraph part. Antenna works normally and I made with it a little more than DXCC?
VERTIKAL for 7 MHz is 10,8m high, made from aluminium tubes and has 15 radials of the same lenght, which are cca 10 cm in the ground. It is operated with RG-213 and through condenser 170 pF tuned on telegraph part. The closness of the tower has a little influence on it, but in solid conditions you can work really good with it?I made quite few states through DXCC?
On 12m is set beam TE33, therefore it works a little worse on 14 MHz, but I longer the elements for 3 cm and with that I lower the resonance on CW for 14 MHz. On 21 and 28 there is no problem. Above it I have horizontally polarised 13el. F9FT for SSB and CW work and vertically polarised 11el. F9FT for FM work on two-meter field. A little higher it is horizontally polarised 21el. F9FT for working on area 70cm. And on the top there is 5el. Beam for 6m area. Unfortunatelly is STAKIRANJE of antennas far from ideal, that is shown on their operation?
All the antennas are operated with RG-213.
Like most radio amateurs I am not happy with wired antennas, because the are too much together, their highs must be wounded up and set in another direction?the neighboorhood buildins have bad influence on it ?But with a little will and time you can do a lot and I have plenty of both?
For PR I use computer 486/100 and 14 inch monitor, that is very old, but PR works great. As Rig I use FT-411E, 2,5 W is enough to conect on S55YBK 144.825 MHz, that is Mirna gora. My home BBS is S50BOX and DX-cluster is usually S50CLX , it works great. Program for PR is SP, I got used on it. ? I tested some others, but this one is the most simple and domestic to me.
For all other things I use a little better PC?CLR 533/192?it is not something special?but it is enough for my work, monitor is 19 inch, it is great for my eyes?HI?
For logging I use SP-LOG. I have seen them many, even better?but for my eyes this is the best, so I ordered it and I am glad to use it.
All QSL have a locomotive, of course I can not get out of my skin?I will be a railwayman till the end. Because I am a member DIG - 5653 is my number, I use it a lot. I am also a member of FIRAC, but unfortunatelly only as a MC Group?
In the end of year 2004 I decided for internet?it is simple and slow, modem is 56 K, but is never faster than 50K?I have examined all domestic pages on LEA?I am often on QRZ.COM and eQSL.CC. I read everything that is connected with radio amateurism and I love to look at pictures of trains?HI?
If you are interested I invite you to look some next pages about my radio amateur working, CFM states , about stations, picture of the tower, last OSL and part about locomotives?
In the end I would like to thank you for visiting my web page and wish you and your love ones a lot of GOOD FEELINGS AND HEALTH !!!
As a radio amateur I wish you a lot of enjoyment and succes in this field !!!
Best regards S52R-Tone
