Modification of Javornik-144/14 transverter for external XO input
Remove the top cover and then the internal cover.
Three areas of modification are shown on the picture:
- internal XO power supply modification:
- cut the +9V line from the 9V regulator
- install the jumper (if you do not plan to use XVRT standalone anytime later, then just cut the line)
- external LO connection:
- remove the 10nF capacitor after the XO buffer (T12)
- install two receptacles on the pads of this capacitor (if you do not plan to use XVRT standalone anytime later, then just remove the capacitor)
- on the photo you can see ceramic capacitor with one leg in
the receptacle and the other leg being unconnected (in case of using
XVRT standalone, this capcitor would be connected to both receptacles)
- the center conductor of the short coaxial cable is
inserted into the upper receptacle (this signal then goes to the 6 dB
divider and to the two buffers for mixers of each RX
converter)
- XO connector:
- drill a hole in the side wall of the internal shield and install suitable connector (SMA is recommended)
- drill the hoile to the top cover too
