[JVC] Q&A-02: Where is the JVC-IN pack gone ? Date: Thu, 14 Sep 2000 14:26:16 +0200 From: "Mijo K." Hello Fabrice & others > I got your email from a French forum. > They told that you wrote a software to enable the DV IN for JVC cams. This is not correct. We don't have a single JVC cam here. They are totaly uknown to me, sorry. I only host - gave a free web space to some foreign JVC-IN pack on our server. The software was written by anonymous foreign author. He put our web site url in install program of that pack without asking me. > I have a DVX4 and I looked for technical docs on the net, but I found > nothing except SONY codes ! :( Yes, that JVC pack was remowed becouse one german company clame to have copy rights on JVC controll protocol. That's not true at all. But: the foreign author of the pack rejected to be know with his full name and Email adr. Therefore the pack was marked as ilegall and was removed. We have no permission to host any pirated software, or something what could not be totaly legal - author known. > How did you do to write your patch ? Did you find docs or you just spy the > communication between recorder and PC and decrypt it ? As foreign author latter when problems begin explains to us, that he indead used some comercial software pack to grab the data transfer between PC and camera, and then he written own VB5 program to use that code. > you can send me your software to enable my DV input. That pack do not exist any more. I can't help you, sorry. Anonymous author also deleted hes Email address. Any attempt to get in contact with him is rejected. Our DV-IN sub page (http://lea.hamradio.si/~s51kq) is open to host free of charge any kind of legal 3rd party DV-IN software, with authors valid ID & Email.
