FAQ
1. If I enable DV-in can I disable it again?
Yes, of course, you can disable it by the same process as you enable, but using codes for disabling.
2. Why is this: If you finish turn off your cam no less then 5 sec. What happens?
This is very similar to changing setting in BIOS of your PC. If you save new setting, PC resets. The processor must read new setting in its starting process.
3. How can I start recording to tape (where can I find the REC command)?
There are more posibilities here:
1. Sending REC command by FireWire (IEEE1394). You need SW like Ulead VideoStudio.
2. Sending REC command by serial port and still capture port. You can download program PanaRec from
http://members.telecom.at/~erpar/download/PanaRec.zip
3. You need remote control with REC (to tape). It is very difficult to buy this in Europe.
4. When I try to record using PanaRec any attempt finished with "NO DV INPUT" on LCD of cam.
First of all be sure that your cam is connecting to PC by FireWire ( = IEEE1394, = iLink) and digital video (data)
is sending small moment before you click on button Record.
But there are others causes of that. Check driver of your 1394 card, some Panasonics require Win98 SE, try newer
driver, connect and turn on cam in VCR mode, look at Control Panels -> System -> System manager ->
Multimedia devices (for TI device driver), if you see item 1394 DV Camcorder
or Imaging devices (or something like that - for MS device driver),
if you see item Microsoft DV Camera and VCR
TI device control
MS device control
Look at red marked items. (This is Czech version of Win98).
If you have Pyro DV and Ulead VideoStudio 3 and preview is working, you have enabled DV in.
Try this:
1. Last upgrade from ADS
2. Use Windows 98 SE
3. Add this to Ulead32.ini in your Windows directory
